Visit of the Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China

The Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, Honourable Mr. Cai Dafeng paid a visit to the National Botanical Garden on Wednesday 5th June. Honourable Dafeng led a 16-member delegation, and was greeted upon his arrival by SPGA Deputy CEO, Ms. Lya Docteur, Principal Secretary for Environment Mr. Denis Matatiken and Botanical Garden Manager, Mr. Eric Sophola.

During the visit the delegation was able to experience the entire garden, sighting the Coco de Mer trees, time capsule, the Palm Forest, the Chinese Garden and ending the visit with the feeding of the Giant Aldabra Tortoises.
