Celebrating the International Day for the Conservation of Mangrove Ecosystems

Celebrating Mangroves🌿🌊

On this International Day for the Conservation of Mangrove Ecosystems, let us come together to honor and protect these vital ecosystems that are the lifeline of our coasts. Mangroves, with their intricate root systems and resilient nature, provide a home for countless species of plants and animals. They act as nurseries, protect coastal communities from storms and erosion, and play a crucial role in mitigating climate change, being highly effective carbon sinks.

As we celebrate the importance of mangroves, let us also renew our commitment to their conservation and restoration, ensuring the continued health and vitality of these ecosystems for generations to come. Our extensive Mangrove Forest located on Curieuse Island, continues to be safeguarded under the vigilant watch of our team based on the Island, with the assistance of our Research Scientists. A nursery has also been dedicated for the propagation of numerous mangrove species, supporting our restoration efforts.
